about chef tom caplerTom Capler’s passion for food was evident at the young age of 13, when he would cook the family meals in his Springfield, IL boyhood home. His favorite memories from that time are around the outdoor grill, but he soon expanded his repertoire when he landed his first restaurant job. He started in the dishroom, and quickly graduated to the kitchen of a local family-owned Mexican restaurant. Tom was fortunate enough to cook side-by-side with the matriarch of the family and learned traditional, from-scratch Mexican dishes. Capler continued to build upon his culinary knowledge and breadth of cuisine as he gained experience working with Tex-Mex flavors, Chinese, Thai, Korean, Italian and American fare; he studied with a French Master Chef as well as Klaus Fritsch, legendary founder for Morton’s of Chicago, and was an operating Chef as well as Training Chef for Morton’s, opening restaurants domestically and internationally. In addition, he ran one of the most successful Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bars as Chef Partner for five years, where he continued to teach and mentor new Sous Chefs and Chef Partners. Tom knew he wanted to continue to nurture peoples’ health and taste, but in an exciting new format. Many of his professional Guests had become personal friends, and they wanted him to cook for them more regularly than at just the restaurant. Coupled with his friends’ desire to have him cook for them full time, Tom’s vision was to create delicious, healthy, flavorful food for people who did not have the time and/or inclination to research recipes, shop, prepare and clean up! Capler uses only fresh, natural and organic ingredients to prepare his meals from scratch. His range includes dozens of cuisines and you will see his creativity and vision come alive as you taste his beautifully, thoughtfully prepared food. The icing on the cake is that the food not only tastes incredible, it is marvelously good for you! Not only will you be doing something great for your taste buds, your body will thank you too! |
